I pull this happy song out with my music students every year for Valentine’s Day. It’s a favorite of mine from childhood, as my mom always sang it with us in the car.
“I love you in the morning and in the afternoon, I love you in the evening ‘neath the silvery moon…”
It occurred to me today as I sang “skinnamarink a dink a dink, skinnamarink a do, I love you” with my students how blessed I am to have a mother that sang with me when I was little.
Years later, I still hear her voice echoing “skinnamarink a do, I love you” and I hope she knows how much her daughters appreciate her.
So to Mom on Valentines Day, “skinnamarink a dink a dink, skinnamarink a do, I love you”!

Very sweet! Never thought of this song for V-day in the Music classroom. Great idea!
